At a Glance

The 2018 Armenian Silver Noah's Ark is a 1 troy oz .999 fine silver legal-tender coin, issued by the Central Bank of Armenia and struck by Leipziger Edelmetallverarbeitungs GmbH (LEV) in Germany. It measures 38.6 mm in diameter, carries a face value of 500 Armenian Dram, and is supplied in a capsule or sachet with a Brilliant Uncirculated finish. The obverse carries the Armenian coat of arms; the reverse depicts Noah's Ark sailing past Mount Ararat. An LEV trademark stamp on the reverse serves as an authentication mark.

The Noah's Ark Series — Armenia's Annual Silver Issue Since 2011

The Noah's Ark series has been issued annually since 2011 by the Central Bank of Armenia, struck at Leipziger Edelmetallverarbeitungs GmbH in Leipzig, Germany. LEV is an affiliated company of Geiger Edelmetalle, one of Germany's best-known private bullion producers. The series takes its name from the Armenian tradition that Mount Ararat — visible on the horizon from the Armenian capital Yerevan and depicted on every Noah's Ark coin — is the biblical resting place of Noah's Ark after the flood. Ararat is also Armenia's national symbol, appearing on the country's coat of arms.

Mount Ararat on Silver — The 2018 Reverse

The 2018 reverse shows Noah's Ark — a large wooden vessel — sailing with Mount Ararat rising behind it, the same composition used consistently across the series to maintain continuity and brand recognition. The obverse carries the Armenian coat of arms, the denomination (500 Dram), the issuing country, and the year 2018. The LEV trademark stamp is struck on the reverse as a production authenticity mark. Finish is Brilliant Uncirculated. Designer attribution is not recorded for this series.

A Low-Premium Biblical Bullion Coin

The Noah's Ark series has built a strong following among stackers for combining government legal-tender status, recognisable religious and geographic imagery, and modest premiums over spot. The 2018 issue is a standard annual release — no special mintage restriction and no collector premium above its intrinsic silver weight value for most buyers. LEV's German production quality and the Central Bank of Armenia's sovereign backing provide authentication confidence. This is 1 troy oz of .999 fine silver held directly, with a 500 Dram legal-tender guarantee and a documented annual series pedigree.
